Donald Eugene Bornemeier, 87, gained his victory on February 12, 2018. He went to be with Jesus while surrounded by family at his home in Murdock, Nebraska.

Don was born on September 17, 1930 to Alwin and Mathilda (Poppe) Bornemeier in Murdock, Nebraska. He graduated high school in 1949 and in June of 1952 married Pat Christner. Army Sergeant Bornemeier served during the Korean War as a mechanic doing maintenance and training. In 1955, he and his family came home to Murdock, where he got to work farming and drilling water wells.

He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Pat, sister Sharon (Rod) Heim of Lincoln, daughters Cindy (Bill) Farewell of Lincoln, Deb (Tony) Snyder of Murdock, Andrea (Tarie Hoverman) Bornemeier of Beatrice, son Daniel (Brenda) Bornemeier of Murdock, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren, in addition to cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends, and three quarters of the wells in Southeast Nebraska.

Service will be held at 10 AM on February 24, 2018 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Murdock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
