Wayne Henry Pederson 89 of Syracuse died 9/15/2017 at the Good Samaritan Center. Born 1/25/1928 in Goehner Nebraska to Henry and Ella (Schroeder) Pederson.
He graduated from Goehner High School, then served in the US Army during the Korean war. On November 16, 1951 Wayne was united in marriage to Jane Ruhga in Lincoln Nebraska. Wayne farmed near Weeping Water and was a rural U.S. mail carrier. He was a member of First Lutheran Church Avoca Nebraska, a member of American Legion Post # 237 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Wayne enjoyed dancing, golfing and attending the activities of his children and grandchildren.
He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jane, a son Todd and a brother Cliff.
Wayne is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Stephanie and Dan Michael of Orangevale CA.; Holly and Craig Gifford of Roca NE. Grandchildren Brent Massoth, Justin Massoth, Tiffany Pederson,and Samuel Gifford.
Great Grandchildren Mathew Massoth and Blayke Massoth.
Sisters-in-law Joann Hill of Elmwood and Shirley Pederson of Goehner, nieces, nephews other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Interment services 12 p.m. Friday Oakwood Cemetery Weeping Water.
Funeral Service 2:00 p.m. Friday September 22, 2017 at First Lutheran Church 1434 N 30 Road rural Avoca NE 68307.
Visitation Thursday 1-8 pm with family 6-8 pm. at Hammons Family Funeral Chapel Weeping Water
